Bonnie Nixon-GardinerBonnie Nixon-Gardiner has more than 20 years of professional experience managing communications and education programs for high-profile projects, including the California utility deregulation, the mergers of Union Pacific and Southern Pacific, Conrail, CSX and Norfolk Southern. Currently, as the HP Director of Ethical Sourcing, she manages the company's worldwide Supply Chain Social and Environmental Responsibility Program. Bonnie also plays a leadership role with major competitors and suppliers on a common industry code of conduct and implementation tools, including risk assessment, self assessment, auditing and reporting tools. In addition, she oversees a worldwide monitoring and training program with 600 suppliers and 70 staff located around the world.
Bonnie has been published in multiple journals and feature articles including Business Week, New York Times, Financial Times, IB.Com, Supply Chain Logistics Magazine and Purchasing Magazine. In 2008, she was recognized by Sustainable Industries as one of the "20 Leading Green Execs." Prior to joining HP, as vice president of environmental communications firm Centerpoint, Bonnie managed more than 200 public and private sector projects. Prior to that, she managed public relations and environmental mediation for the State of Massachusetts on the Boston Harbor Cleanup Project. She began her career as an environmental activist while she was attending Pennsylvania State University during the Three Mile Island nuclear power plant accident. Her 24 years of experience spans across several industries including technology, biotech, financial, infrastructure and utilities, food processing and transportation.
