Gayle Yamauchi-Gleason, Ph.D.

Gayle Yamauchi-Gleason co-teaches the Effective Management, Communication & Action course with Keely Killpack. Gayle received her Ph.D. in Communication Studies from Ohio University where she specialized in organizational communication, qualitative research methods and higher education administration. Her previous work experience includes student affairs administration, university staff development, continuing education program development and teaching and EEO/AA compliance and training.

Gayle also consults in the areas of diversity, leadership, strategic visioning and community development. She greatly enjoys assisting mission-driven organizations align their values, goals and programs. Gayle has taught at USF in the M.S. in Organizational Development program. She has also taught communication fundamentals, conflict resolution, cooperative argumentation, ethics and writing at the undergraduate level at three other institutions across the U.S. She has published articles on organizational change, online diversity training, leadership, and student paraprofessionals in higher education. Her research interests include the pedagogical and professional development use of reflective practices as well as communication practices and principles that promote sustainable human organizing. Gayle also holds an M.A. in Communication from University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and a B.S. in Business Administration from University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
