Net Impact is a global organization with the goal of improving the world by growing and strengthening a network of new leaders who are using the power of business to make a positive net social, environmental, and economic impact. Presidio School of Management boasts 100% Net Impact membership of its student body.

The Presidio Net Impact Chapter provides  resources, events and connections to students. Our aim is to grow the school as a force in the sustainability movement by acting as change agents and interacting with the broader community. We seek to create partnerships with other MBA students, business schools and professionals. While sustainability principles are already integrated in the entire Presidio MBA curriculum, the Chapter's goal is to continually seek to enhance the courses taught and the career development of Presidio students through the Net Impact community and events.

Events

Firm Night
The Presidio Net Impact Firm Night is an annual career fair for businesses, nonprofits and governmental agencies seeking to hire MBAs with a background in sustainable management. The event provides participating businesses and organizations the opportunity to meet and recruit Presidio students and graduates, as well as other members of Net Impact, for key internship, consulting and permanent positions.

This year’s Firm Night will take place at Fort Mason in San Francisco, on Wednesday, February 13, 2008, from 6-9 p.m. Participating companies include Gap, Wal-Mart, Williams-Sonoma, New Resource Bank, California Public Utilities Commission and Ecos Consulting. Workshops
Our chapter hosts career workshops each semester. The 2007 topics included Negotiation and Resume Building, in the Spring and Fall respectively.

Net Impact National Conference
An incredible three days packed with speakers, panels and networking events, the Net Impact National Conference brings together over 1,900 attendees including graduate students from the world’s top business schools, as well as myriad business professionals, speakers and panelists, and recruiters. At the 2007 Conference in Nashville, Presidio was represented by 19 students and 3 graduates. The 2008 Conference will be held at Wharton School of Business in Philadelphia, PA, November 13–15.

Other Chapter Events
Chapter members gathered for a debriefing after the Net Impact Conference to share information and experiences from the various panels, workshops and events. The Chapter also held an annual winter networking party during the Fall 2007 semester at San Francisco's John Colins lounge. Net Impact also co-hosted a fundraiser and mixer for Presidio extracurricular groups in conjunction with Presidio's Green Building Club. Attendees formed teams and competed in sustainability pub trivia.
