Williams-Sonoma has worked with multiple student teams in a number of sustainable operations and marketing efforts. One team developed a national waste reduction operations plan across retail stores. Williams-Sonoma also hired a Presidio intern to implement the pilot in Bay Area stores. Based upon this success, three additional projects are underway with Presidio student teams including an operations plan for sustainable packaging, a green classification system and a CSR report.

The Williams-Sonoma project partner said, “Through the (store waste and recycling) project, operations staff at corporate gained a better understanding of our overall sustainable development initiative and how it really engages and inspires all levels of the organization. Working with the team from Presidio School of Management was as seamless as working with a co-worker.”
